So, what’s new in church work? Many are enamored of “emergent.” But do we know what that is? and more importantly, do we know what it isn’t?

Christianity is, in many ways, about influence: Go therefore and baptize … It’s a command to touch lives with the hope of the Gospel. Such is an extension of our worship of God. The question is, how do we get there?

We have to sort and rank all the information and trends and fads that come our way. Not everything we hear is true, or important, or urgent, or even knowable.

I am thinking it’s a matter of focus; keeping our heads down. We can listen to the barrage of info if we realize some of it is just noise. We don’t have to be impulsive with it … in favor of plodding along with the things that actually do work to help us reach our outreach goals.
