Worship Book
Missional Worship is my new book on worship as a lifestyle, and the connection between your life of worship and your public leadership in front of a congregation. As a coach and consultant in worship and evangelism, I’ve learned a lot about the nuts and bolts of starting and expanding worship in new and established churches. As a worshipper of God, I’ve learned a lot about the internal change that happens in your soul when you really worship God. This book will give you a window into both aspects of leading others into the presence of Christ, i.e., both the spiritual and the practical. I hope you will pick it up when it comes out in the spring of 2011.
Missional Worship, to be published in the spring of 2011 by Chalice Press, with a foreword by Sally Morgenthaler and an afterword by Martha Grace Reese.

Net Results: “There’s more to worship than planning and producing a weekly service. In Missional Worship, Townley divides the world of church worship in two: the personal side that we bring to a worship service … and hopefully experience in a worship service … and the worship planning and execution side. She hits a home run in both sections.” Read the rest…
Friar Tuck’s Fleeting Thoughts: “What is most helpful about Townley’s teaching is that a worship leader needs to have a worship lifestyle. If a pastor or a worship leader is simply a showman, and he/she does not live the truth they are teaching, people will know it and see it. But if the person is authentically prayerful, authentically passionate about their faith, and authentically active and hopeful of reaching unbelievers, that will pass on to the congregation as well.” Read the rest…
